While many JQB yachts remain firmly off the radar, it is no secret that Jonathan Quinn Barnett worked on the interior design of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s 126 metre Octopus. - Boat International

OCTOPUS can accommodate 26 guests in 13 staterooms. Exceptional amenities include a large cinema and a recording studio with a specially designed floor to damp out noise and vibration. There is also a private observation lounge, a beach club and diving deck, pool, gym, and spa and sauna.
Offering a genuine first-class experience while cruising or at anchor, OCTOPUS has plenty of space for enjoyment and activity on board. With a full owner’s deck including a private bar, jacuzzi, and outdoor dining area, this deck provides the owner with a sanctuary of privacy and security. While the yacht has two elevators servicing the guest areas, one is dedicated to the owner’s exclusive use for travel throughout the yacht with discretion and ease.

Exterior design from my original sketch, developed with the clients and their project team. 3D Rhino modelling by the office of the late Bill Langan, a longtime friend of the owners and a generous collaborator. Construction drawings by Delta Design.
JQB Ltd produced hundreds of interior shop drawings, communicating every detail of the vessel’s interior to Belina Yacht Interior Woodworking and Delta Marine, subject to the owners’ approval.
On the interior, her decks are served by a silent, glass-enclosed cylindrical elevator with an oil-rubbed bronze metal finish. A central staircase wraps around the elevator, featuring curved marble wall panels—a remarkable accomplishment, as all panels run vertically in a sequential vein-matched arrangement throughout the length of the stair tower.
The upper deck features an indoor/outdoor dining option for ten via a distinctive curved glass door that opens a full 180 degrees. Just one of her many unique features is an extensively outfitted gym on the sun deck with dramatic and panoramic views of the outside. The sun deck, complete with a lap pool, allows for maximum pleasure and healthy living while on board. Enchanting from every vantage point, this beautiful masterwork from Delta Marine was built for her owners’ way of travelling — long range, at ease.
"How do we say thank you for a dream? Thank you and your staff for a job well done beyond all hopes!” - Client

"I have learned everyone would like something truly one-of-a-kind.
We research new materials and technologies to achieve this goal for our clients."

For MLR, launched in 2019, JQB Ltd followed the same sketch-led design and detailed interior shop-drawing process, working with owners undertaking their first new-build yacht. JQB Ltd provided the full 3D exterior modelling of all surfaces in SolidWorks, contributing final working models for the hull surfacing down to the waterline, hull chines, sheer lines and the critical bow cone. Captain Mitchell Heath was instrumental in the layout and systems engineering. Delta Marine Design was responsible for all aspects of engineering, hydrostatics and manufacture of the yacht, with its aluminium hull and carbon-GRP superstructure.
An exceptional example of the finest in American yacht design, engineering, and manufacturing. Designed and built in Seattle, Washington USA. Launched in 2019, the MY MLR features a modern exterior design with an original, American neoclassic-inspired interior design. Copyright JQB Design 2021.

“My first charter experience in the BVIs was the best week I’d ever had,” recalls the Owner. “I want that for others. That’s what this concept is all about, from the design to the organic food. That’s why we named it Muchos Mas, which means many more — many more memories.” - Boat International
"The epitome of sophisticated, clean styling combined with subtle elegance." - Burgess Yachts
The sun deck: The pool, with its swim-up bar, appears huge but half of it is shallow, with moulded benches for tanning while partially submerged. A waterfall fill adds a soothing sound. Clear glass panels surrounding the sundeck will make it comfortable during early season cruising. - Boat International
Superyacht Spa Experience: A series of overhead jets pulse waves of water in a programmed pattern over a heated onyx bed for a spa-style hydro massage experience. There are also two shower heads for standard vertical showers. The glass surround on the huge onyx-walled shower area becomes opaque for privacy at the touch of a button. - Boat International
Ultimate Yacht Galley: All gleaming stainless steel galley, it has every conceivable food preparation device plus a herb garden with professional grow lights. The design keeps crew traffic and stewardesses involved in prep or course changes out of the cooking zone. Two doors provide service route options. -Boat International
